The North Pole is a magical place, and things look different outside of it!
To make it easier for our pets to travel to you, we make them appear as stuffed toys. Some families aren't allowed to have real pets, or have allergies and can't keep a real dog or cat in their home. By magically turning our pets into stuffed toys we make sure ALL kids can apply to foster a North Pole pet for the holidays.
Your pet is very much real. They listen to you, they have fun with you, and they love you. Treat them with care, and believe in them. They believe in you.
Our reindeer are quite busy this time of year, unlike our other pets! The main reindeer are training and preparing to deliver toys on Christmas Eve. Other reindeer do go to visit some homes of children through a different program (see Reindeer in Here).
Our foster program is meant to bring love and attention to our other pets, our dogs and cats, who become lonely while everyone is preparing for Christmas.
Maybe! There are a lot of elves and pets in the North Pole! If you have a scout elf visiting your home, they may know your pet but we're not sure they'll tell you! Either way, your elf and your pet should get along fine during the holidays.
We're glad you asked! Grown-ups are so important when it comes to the North Pole foster program. For more information about the program, details on what's included with the pet, and other tips please check out this page.
